Lynne Towner


Director of Thrive At Work
Senior Facilitator

Lynne Towner founded Thrive At Work in 2006. The business intention, to be an active stimulus in assisting businesses and people to be more conscious grew from in-depth experience in working with groups and organizations. Lynne brings to the table business acumen, research ability, organization/systems knowledge, immense people skills and expertise to develop training packages.

Her educational and career paths have been twofold: People + Business

Business: Her first foray into business commenced at 19 years when she started and built a successful design and manufacture firm. She combined her love of business and travel to form a boutique travel company. Internationally she has been a start-up advisor to a transport company, an initiator of an ecological school and a coffee export endeavor. She has been a business/leadership mentor to companies ranging from accountants to major government organizations.

People: 20 years of experience and training in many modalities working with individuals and teams gives a rare depth to Lynne’s people skills. For 10 years she ran a thriving psychotherapy practice. Many of her clients were corporate leaders. Her ability to design training programmes came to the fore in developing a three year diploma programme for leadership and facilitation. Internationally (Europe, Sth America and Asia) she has designed and facilitated unique and potent retreats and training programmes to bring consciousness to leadership and teams.

Within the New Zealand business scene Lynne has worked with a range of professional groups such as midwives, librarians, cleaners, legal staff , accountants, trainers, HR…… With respect to organizational diagnosis and training she has put programmes into government organizations, corporates and small business enterprises.

Lynne has a Bachelor of Arts Political Studies from Auckland University, Diploma in Psychosynthesis from the Institute of Psychosynthesis (NZ) and a Diploma in Bioenergetics from the Institute of Bioenergetics (US) . In addition; internationally she has extensive training in five therapy/training models.

 

 

 

   

Sandy Morris

Senior Consultant
& Facilitator

Sandy joined Thrive in 2007 as a senior consultant and facilitator. She has worked with major companies inside and out of New Zealand and brings to Thrive At Work her extensive analytical, research and people skills. She has an innate ability to focus on detail while maintaining the macro perspective. This provides the insight required to produce creative and innovative solutions, zoning in on real causation.

For five years Sandy has designed and delivered leadership programmes to a wide range of organisations. She has leading edge facilitation skills for improving team performance and cohesion from executive to front line teams.

She has a proven track record in gaining efficiency through system and process improvement in a wide range of industries. Finding and addressing the root cause of wastage and shrinkage making a sustainable impact on profit margins.

Sandy has mentored and coached from the executive to floor level of companies and been a part of developing the Thrive At Work Dynamic Mentoring & Coaching © Model. She has provided micro management matching individual thinking styles to systems that work for people, thereby successfully increasing productivity. Sandy has assisted company leaders to analyse employees’ skill levels ensuring appropriate people placement and skill mix.

Sandy has Diplomas in Fashion Design, Information Systems & Technology, and Group Dynamics & Leadership. She has trained and practised internationally in four systems of therapy.

 

   
   

Geoff Mercer

Senior Consultant
& Facilitator

 

Geoff has many years of experience in working with a wide range of organisations in many sectors including insurance, construction, health, transport, shipping, farming, forestry, property, professional services and retail. Geoff has well developed analytical, research and critical thinking skills as well as very effective people skills. His central focus has been to create solutions for both organisations and people who have typically sought his assistance when under pressure or involved in conflict or other stressful situations. He is talented at defining issues and moving companies forward.

For over ten years Geoff has teamed up with director Lynne Towner , to train leaders and facilitate teams to achieve high performance outcomes, both in New Zealand and overseas e.g. South America and Asia.

Geoff has a strong personal commitment to assist people to become more aware and effective within their work life and to bringing about real and practical change that endures. His passion is to create productive and conscious organisations.

Geoff’s background is in the law and he has worked as a lawyer in New Zealand , Australia and in Great Britain , with experience in a specialty legal practice, in one of New Zealand ’s largest law firms and in the insurance industry. In recent years as well as acting as a mediator and facilitator Geoff has operated his own law practice as a barrister.

 
   
   

Mark Strang

Associate Consultant
Mark joined Thrive in February, 2009 as a business development expert to expand Thrive’s internal growth and provide mentorship to client companies. He brings to Thrive strong commercial acumen with practiced knowledge in all fields of business operations. He has established strengths in strategic planning, financial planning, sales & marketing and recently executive coaching.

Mark began his career as an investment analyst for a venture capital company owned by Fletcher Building Limited and later a small boutique investment bank, Antipodes Consult Limited. He anaylsed and consulted to over 150 companies with in a two year period. This exposure was a great platform to leverage growth into his own business projects.

For seven years Mark owned and operated successful companies in the property and retail industries. In 2008 he branched into the field of professional and personal mentorship seeking to help great people achieve wealth through inner development and change eventuating in business/career growth and profitability.

Mark is a great believer in continued personal development and is adamant that a business’ success or failure starts and finishes at the key decision makers willingness to accurately evaluate, critique and then change their own personal awareness whilst aligning it professionally with the overall vision of an organisation.

Mark has a joint Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce degree in Philosophy and Marketing from the University of Otago , New Zealand .
