  • For: frontline employees – middle managers – senior level executives.
  • The format is designed to fit the requirements: seminars, workshops, modules for longer term training and residential intensives.
Training for Managers
This training caters for employees who have skills in their specific industry, but may not have the full suite of skills required to manage people.
  • Saying the “hard stuff” as it really is.
  • Dealing with issues as they arise rather than procrastinating.
  • Understanding and managing interpersonal dynamics.
  • How to deliver clear instructions that lead to productive outcomes.
  • Being clear of the different role and functioning between: friend; team member and manager.
Change Management Initiatives
For change management initiatives to succeed both the people, and how the system interfaces with them must be taken into account.
  • Identify what factors will determine the success or failure of your initiative.
  • Discover and address current problems that will short circuit your change management process if not fixed.
  • Learn how to inspire your people to embrace and execute important change initiatives, and keep morale high during challenging times.

System

Bullying
Recent research exemplified the epidemic of bully that exists in NZ and outlined the need for specifc training.

We are experts in working with bullying in the workforce.

  • Our success is based on the systems approach we take and the multifacted strategies we engage.
  • Lasting effects must incorporate an in-depth understanding of the wider dynamics both between people and between the individuals and the system.

Interpersonal Conflict

Redundancy
The fallout from redudancy can be very toxic and often contamintes beneath the surface for many years. NZ is a small business community.

Redundancy is fraught for the employee, the team and is often painful for the HR personal involved. It is highly costly both personally and economically.

Thrive At Work has carried out original research into the personal processes and effects of redundancy and have defined the processes and stages involved and then developed unique and innovative strategies for both the person/s being made redundant and the HR staff involved in the process.

People’s lives can be ruined because of ignorant and misguided processes; be smart and socially responsible - engage the specialists.

Team & Leadership

Underperforming stressed teams

Leaders who have skill/ability deficits

How to identify stress
The first step in reducing the high costs of stress in the workplace is to train your people how to identify stress.

Thrive At Work has developed a programme of one seminar and two workshops to firstly teach the physiology of stress and its manifestation followed by experiential workshops to teach the practical indentification over a range of personality types.

  • Once stress is identified interventions can be put in place before more serious consequences/costs occur.
  • Respond to your OHS obligations.

System

Systemic issues
Stress and tension can occur at any level within an organisation’s sructure and there maybe certain factors such as IT bombardment that play out through the entire structure. If any of the following factors are impacting negatively on your organisation, Thrive At Work consultants can investigate the situation and develop corrective strategies.
  • A gap between the stated and real Culture. Toxic culture.
  • Poor staff moral and low loyalty.
  • High staff turnover.
  • High absenteeism.
  • Stressed or unpleasant work atmosphere.
  • Communications difficulties or failure.
  • Poor information flows.
  • Shell shock from ongoing structural and process change.
